Transfer Options for Associate in Applied Science Degrees

B.A.S.

The Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) curriculum is designed specifically for students who have completed the Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree. Students who successfully complete Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degrees at Arizona public community colleges are eligible for admission to the Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) program at any Arizona public university offering the BAS degree. Students can then earn a BAS degree by completing the BAS degree requirements at the university, not to exceed 60 credit hours.

Students who have completed other Associate degrees will be admitted to the university and may be admitted to the BAS program at the discretion of the admitting institution, pending an evaluation of the compatibility of the degree curriculum with the BAS curriculum. A student must complete an Associate degree prior to earning a BAS degree. Academic Program and Articulation Steering Committee – October 16, 2001

3+1

3+1 transfer programs allow a significant number of lower-division credits to apply into the baccalaureate degree (sometimes as many as 90 credits). The transferred A.A.S. program often includes lower-division programs requirements, a general education block, and any program pre-requisites for advanced study. Of a regular 120 credit degree program, the remaining 30 credits are usually specified to meet upper-division degree requirements.
