What is an "AGEC?"
ANSWSER:
The Arizona General Education Curriculum (AGEC) is a thirty-five semester credit "block" that you can complete at any Arizona community college. Because there are some differences in the mathematics and science requirements for different degrees, there are three AGECs.
• AGEC-A: This is 35 semester credits that are part of the Associate of Arts degree.Completion of the AGEC with a grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale guarantees your admission to the universities if you are a resident student. Non-residents must have a grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Completion of the AGEC also means that you will have met the lower-division general studies requirements at any of the Arizona public universities.
The above information is found at this Arizona Course Applicability web site. Visit it for more information on the statewide AGECs!
