Frequently Asked Questions

Are there some majors that don't accept AGEC?

ANSWSER:

If you successfully complete the AGEC at your community college, your admission to any Arizona public university is guaranteed, and your lower-division general education requirements will be satisfied - no matter which major you select.

However, there are some majors for which it doesn't make sense to do all your lower-division general education requirements in the first two years. These majors often have so many course prerequisites, and course sequencing requirements at the lower division that you really need to start working on the major within your first year.

In order to find out whether the majors in which you're interested have room for you to complete the AGEC in your first couple of years, check out the Degrees and Pathways listing. Each Arizona public university major that has an identified transfer pathway is included here, and if that major allows room for an AGEC in the first two years, the appropriate AGEC is identified.

University degrees that indicate "none" for the AGEC are the ones for which you should start your major coursework right away.

You should work with your advisor to find the best ways to meet your transfer goals!
