Frequently Asked Questions

I want to transfer. What do I need to do?

ANSWSER:

Whether you are decided or undecided about a major but know that you will eventually transfer to a university, it's best to begin with the Arizona General Education Curriculum (AGEC), a component of the statewide transfer Associate Degree programs.

AGEC is a 35-semester-credit general education program of study that fulfills lower-division general education requirements at any transfer partner institution. Completion of the AGEC with a grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale guarantees your admission to the universities if you are a resident student. Non-residents must have a grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.

Once you complete the AGEC, you are more than half way to completing an Associate Degree. Click here to learn about the benefits from your Maricopa Community Colleges' Associate Degree program and the advantages they provide toward transfer.

In order to maximize your time and credits at Maricopa, please see an academic advisor prior to enrolling in courses. Click here to access the advisement/transfer centers at your college.
