Advising Guides

District-wide Advising Guides are resources to assist in advising students intending to transfer into content specific majors or interest areas. Advising guides are intended for students planning to transfer to specific baccalaureate granting colleges and universities and contain course specific recommendations leading to the Maricopa AGEC and Associates degree(s). Advising guides are intended for transfer students whose major cannot be met through existing statewide transfer degrees.

In general, the components of the degree meet requirements for specified majors. The course selection is intended to prepare students to meet university admission requirements, but does not in itself guarantee admission to a university or to programs with pre-professional or selective admissions processes.

The semester credits used to satisfy the MCCCD AGEC and associate degree will apply to university graduation requirements of the university major for which the guide is designed. Students are responsible for completing specific program requirements for he major and institution to which they will transfer and should work closely with an advisor on course selection.

The Center for Curriculum and Transfer Articulation makes every attempt to maintain the list of advising guides current per District Curriculum Committee and MCCCD Governing Board action on curriculum including action on courses affecting degrees and certificates. The updates follow a monthly maintenance schedule and updates are communicated to the college curriculum personnel, Admissions and records, Advisement areas as well as other departments/college operations

The advising guides listed represent the most current advising guides as processed an approved by the discipline specific Instruction Councils.
