Center for Curriculum and Transfer Articulation: Curriculum Processing Calendar

Quick Read on the Curriculum Processing Calendar

The Curriculum Processing Calendar is prepared by the District Center for Curriculum and Transfer Articulation each spring semester and submitted to the District Curriculum Committee as a First Reading Item in April with action by Committee in May.

The Calendar does not attempt to capture every critical step related to the processing of curriculum proposals. It does include the dates for the colleges to submit their curriculum proposals, meeting dates for the District Curriculum Committee and other related events.

The Calendar contains several links to other websites and resources. This includes a link to processes at state level that affect the courses and programs approved by the MCCCD Governing Board. An example of this is the deadline dates for action on course equivalencies and common courses. Users should access the information to have a better understanding of how MCCCD curriculum is affected by other processes and the timing of those events.

Questions on the Calendar should be sent to the Center for Curriculum and Transfer Articulation. The District Curriculum Committee, the college Curriculum Development Facilitators and the college Curriculum Technicians are kept informed on activities or events that affect the Calendar. These individuals distribute information related to the Calendar to others at their respective college.

The colleges subsequently use the Processing Calendar to schedule their College Curriculum Committee meeting dates as well as other operational items related to their processing of curriculum.

Other important meeting dates to keep in mind are:

Vice Presidents of Academic Affairs Meetings (held the fourth Monday of each month),
Vice Presidents of Student Affairs Council Meetings (held the second and fourth Wednesday of each month),
Occupational Administrators Meetings (held the first Wednesday of each month)
