Courses: Aerospace Studies (AES) and Military Science (MIS) Course

Arizona State University and the Maricopa Community Colleges ROTC partnership allows for the AES and MIS prefixed courses to be offered by the Maricopa Community Colleges once the courses are developed by Arizona State University.

Arizona State University is responsible for informing the MCCCD Center for Curriculum and Transfer Articulation of any additions or modifications to the AES and MIS prefixed courses. Subsequently the MCCCD Center for Curriculum and Transfer Articulation conducts the necessary follow up to ensure that the courses have been processed for MCCCD Governing Board approval, and places the courses in the course bank for distribution to the colleges.

Course Processing - Aerospace Studies (AES) and Military Science (MIS) Course

The following procedures apply to the addition; modification and deletion of the AES and/or MIS prefixed courses:

Arizona State University (ASU) initiates the addition or modification or deletion of the AES and/or MIS prefixed courses by submitting a request to the MCCCD Center for curriculum and Transfer Articulation.

The District Director of Curriculum and Transfer Articulation or designee:
Reviews the request and ensures the course elements align with the Maricopa Community College course format,

Places the course as an information item on the next regularly scheduled District Curriculum Committee general meeting as an informational item,

Subsequently places the courses as an Action Item in the next regularly scheduled MCCCD Governing Board meeting.

Once approved by the MCCCD Governing Board, the courses are placed in the MCCCD Course Inventory Audit and released to the colleges following the Curriculum Processing Calendar schedule.

The Curriculum Procedures Handbook is a product of the Maricopa County Community Colleges District. Any and all changes to the Handbook are monitored and coordinated through the District Center for Curriculum and Transfer Articulation. Please give credit to the Maricopa County Community College District if the Handbook or sections of the Handbook are duplicated.
