District Curriculum Processing Calendar

This calendar includes dates, deadlines and events pertaining to the MCCCD curriculum process and integrates information from the Center for Curriculum and Transfer Articulation Web Page as well as the MCCCD Academic Calendar. The underlined text indicates a link to additional information.

The Calendar presents the information and dates in chronological order from the time of the preliminary submission of curriculum proposals, District Curriculum Committee review and approval, Governing Board review and approval and final dissemination of the curriculum to the colleges via the Student Information Systems. Where curricular activities cross over into subsequent months, these months are identified with special notes and the activities are described.

The specific dates and information related to the statewide process for Course Equivalencies, Common Courses, and Degrees and Pathways is provided for users access. This information affects the MCCCD general education processes and MCCCD degrees and pathways.

Course Modification proposals must be processed and approved three months prior to the effective first year/term on changes to:

January 15 (Tu)	Center distributes the Proposals Submitted Report (DCO-00a). This is a snapshot of the server window listing proposals submitted for the month. The report is the Center for Curriculum and Transfer Articulation's first alert to the colleges of proposals submitted.
January 18 (F)	Center distributes Proposal Analysis Report and the Class Schedule Impact Report to the colleges.
January 21 (M)	Martin Luther King Jr. Day – Holiday
January 23 (W)	College responses to the Proposal Analysis Report MUST be submitted by 3:00 p.m. on this date. The proposal(s) in question will be removed for agenda consideration if a response is not received by the due date.
January 23 (W)	Vice Presidents of Academic Affairs submission of DCC General Agenda Items to the District Director of Curriculum.
January 25 (F)	DCC General Agenda projected release / DCC Online Curriculum Agenda finalized and released for voting purposes

March 3 (M)	District Curriculum Committee General Meeting Planning Segment Begins at 1:30 - 3:30 Business Segment Begins at 3:30 - 5:00 Governing Board Room-District Office Associate in Transfer Partnership (ATP) degrees reviewed by committee for action and prepared for March Governing Board action if appropriate. Note: By March 31, 2008 the approved ATPs would be posted on the appropriate websites by either the university partner or the Center for Curriculum and Transfer Articulation.*
March 10 (M)	Deadline for universities to receive CEG equivalency, General Education Designations, or ATF CEG recommendation requests in order to guarantee Summer and Fall effective terms and for publication within the CEG by first day of classes.

Release of systems’ information is the last business process to close the May curriculum cycle. **NOTE: At the May 7, 2007 DCC meeting it was agreed by Committee that a June 2008 DCC General Meeting would not be scheduled. However, this is subject to change per DCC and if changed, advance notice will be sent to all involved.
