District Curriculum Processing Calendar

This calendar includes dates, deadlines and events pertaining to the MCCCD curriculum process and integrates information from the Center for Curriculum and Transfer Articulation Web Page as well as the MCCCD Academic Calendar.  The underlined text indicates a link to additional information.

The Calendar presents the information and dates in chronological order from the time of the preliminary submission of curriculum proposals, District Curriculum Committee review and approval, Governing Board review and approval and final dissemination of the curriculum to the colleges via the Student Information Systems. Where curricular activities cross over into subsequent months, these months are identified with special notes and the activities are described.

Special Deadlines: Specific Dates Related to General Education and Course Equivalency Processes
The specific dates and information related to the statewide process for Course Equivalencies, Common Courses, and Degrees and Pathways is provided for users access. This information affects the MCCCD general education processes and MCCCD degrees and pathways.
 
Special Deadlines: Curriculum Received, Course Modifications
Course Modification proposals must be processed and approved three months prior to the effective first year/term on changes to:
Prefix/Number/Suffix, Credits, Prerequisites, Last/Year Term (course deletions)

DCC Online Review/Approval of Curriculum
August 06 (Th) College submit proposals to Center for Curriculum & Transfer Articulation
August 10 (M) CCTA distributes the Total Proposals Submitted Report (DCO-00) and the Proposals Submitted Report - (DCO-01) to the colleges.
August 14 (F) CCTA distributes the Proposal Analysis Report and the Class Schedule Impact Report- (DCO-10) to the colleges.
August 19 (W) College responses to the Proposal Analysis Report MUST be submitted by 3:00 p.m. on this date.  The proposal(s) in question will be removed for agenda consideration if a response is not received by the due date.
Vice Presidents of Academic Affairs submission of DCC General Agenda Items to the District Director of Curriculum.
August 21 (F) DCC General Agenda projected release / DCC Online Curriculum Agenda finalized and released for voting purposes
August 24 (M) Voting begins on August 24-27, 2009 DCC Online Agenda
August 27 (Th) Voting ends on August 24-27, 2009 DCC Online Agenda at 3:00 pm
August 31 (M) (Early DCC Meeting Due To Labor Day)

September 14 (M) Deadline for universities to receive CEG equivalency, General Education Designations, or ATF CEG recommendation requests in order to guarantee Spring effective terms & for publication within the CEG by first day of classes.

Sept  23– 28 (W-M) CCTA finalizes SIS and Office web site updates for release of curriculum processed for the month.  Final updates begin soon after Governing Board action on curriculum and per Information Technologies Services (ITS) staff schedule.
Sept 28 (M)-Oct 02(F) CCTA finalizes course information for routing to state universities through ACETS for review and action. All transactions require a 60 day processing window.
