District Curriculum Processing Calendar

This calendar includes dates, deadlines and events pertaining to the MCCCD curriculum process and integrates information from the Center for Curriculum and Transfer Articulation Web Page as well as the MCCCD Academic Calendar. The underlined text indicates a link to additional information.

The Calendar presents the information and dates in chronological order from the time of the preliminary submission of curriculum proposals, District Curriculum Committee review and approval, Governing Board review and approval and final dissemination of the curriculum to the colleges via the Student Information Systems. Where curricular activities cross over into subsequent months, these months are identified with special notes and the activities are described.

Special Deadlines: Specific Dates Related to General Education and Course Equivalency Processes

The specific dates and information related to the statewide process for Course Equivalencies, Common Courses, and Degrees and Pathways is provided for users access. This information affects the MCCCD general education processes and MCCCD degrees and pathways.

Special Deadlines: Curriculum Received, Course Modifications

Course Modification proposals must be processed and approved three months prior to the effective first year/term on changes to:

January 08 (Th)	College Submit Proposals to Center for Curriculum & Transfer Articulation
January 12 (M)	Center distributes the Total Proposals Submitted Report (DCO-00a) and the Proposals Submitted Report - (DCO-01) to the colleges.
January 15 (Th)	Center distributes Proposal Analysis Report and the Class Schedule Impact Report- (DCO-10) to the colleges.
January 19 (M)	MLK Holiday
January 21 (W)	College responses to the Proposal Analysis Report MUST be submitted by 3:00 p.m. on this date. The proposal(s) in question will be removed for agenda consideration if a response is not received by the due date. Vice Presidents of Academic Affairs submission of DCC General Agenda Items to the District Director of Curriculum.
January 23 (F)	DCC General Agenda projected release / DCC Online Curriculum Agenda finalized and released for voting purposes
January 26 (M)	Voting on January 26-29, 2009 DCC Online Agenda begins
January 29 (Th)	Voting on January 26-29, 2009 DCC Online Agenda ends at 3:00 pm

February/March The following February/March deadlines are related to the January 26-29, 2009 DCC Online Agenda. Release of systems’ information is the last business process to close the curriculum cycle.

Mar 02 (M)-06 (F)	Center finalizes course information for routing to state universities through ACETS for review and action. All transactions require a 60 day processing window.

February 18 (W)	College responses to the Proposal Analysis Report MUST be submitted by 3:00 p.m. on this date. February (W)	Instructional Council/college review and responses due on Associate in Transfer Partnership degree changes/status for inclusion at March 3 DCC General Meeting. Changes approved will be effective Fall.
February 20 (F)	DCC General Agenda projected release / DCC Online Curriculum Agenda finalized and released for voting purposes
February 23 (M)	Voting on February 23-26, 2009 DCC Online Agenda begins
February 26 (Th)	Voting on February 23-26, 2009 DCC Online Agenda ends at 3:00 pm

March 02 (M)	District Curriculum Committee General Meeting Business Segment Begins at 1:30 - 3:00 Planning Segment Begins at 3:00 - 5:00 Governing Board Room-District Office *Associate in Transfer Partnership (ATP) degrees reviewed by committee for action and prepared for March Governing Board action if appropriate.
March 16 (M)	Deadline for universities to receive CEG equivalency, General Education Designations, or ATF CEG recommendation requests in order to guarantee Summer and Fall effective terms & for publication within the CEG by first day of classes.
March 10 (T)	Governing Board agenda due date for February 23-26, 2009 DCC Online processed curriculum
March 19 -20 (Th -F)	Spring Break
March 24 (T)	Governing Board Meeting on February 23-26, 2009 DCC Online processed curriculum

March 25 (W)- 30 (M)	Center finalizes SIS and Office web site updates for release of curriculum processed for the month. Final updates begin soon after Governing Board action on curriculum and Student Information System update schedule. Note: MCCCD Check sheets finalized and posted on the Center for Curriculum and Transfer Articulation Website.
March 30 (M)-April 03 (F)	Center finalizes course information for routing to state universities through ACETS for review and action. All transactions require a 60 day processing window.

May 21 (Th)	DCC Online Curriculum Agenda finalized and released for voting purposes. **Reminder: Committee reserves the right to cancel a June business meeting. If there is no June DCC General meeting, any items pulled/withdrawn or tabled will be moved to the September 2009 General Meeting.
May 25 (M)	Memorial Day Holiday
May 26 (T)	Voting on May 26-28, 2009 DCC Online Agenda begins (3-DAY VOTING TIMELINE DUE TO Memorial Day HOLIDAY)
