District Curriculum Committee Agendas

Quick Read on the District Curriculum Committee Agendas

There are two types of agendas developed by the Center for Curriculum and Transfer Articulation (CCTA) that support the work of the District Curriculum Committee. Both agendas are posted on the CCTA website per the Curriculum Processing Calendar schedule.

1) District Curriculum Committee Online Agenda
This agenda generally contains all the curriculum proposals that were submitted by the colleges for the month. The proposals are added to the agenda based on the analysis conducted by the Center for Curriculum and Transfer Articulation and the college response to the issues and/or questions identified on the analysis report. The online agenda may contain select informational items such as the first alert on new prefixes in process and information on proposals submitted for university review and general education purposes.

The District Curriculum Committee has been conducting an online review and voting process on the curriculum agenda since June 1998. In general the Committee has four days to vote on the agenda items and the Director of the CCTA communicates outcomes of the voting process to the Committee soon after voting ends. Items on the online agenda may be moved to the General Meeting Agenda at the request of the Vice President of Academic Affairs. This allows for further discussion in a formal setting before the Committee takes action on the agenda item.

2) District Curriculum Committee General Agenda
The general meetings of Committee are formal meetings generally held in the Governing Board Room at the District Support Service Center. These meetings allow for a broader focus and discussion on curricular issues or items on the general agenda. It also provides the venue for the faculty to bring forward curriculum issues, and for ad hoc workgroups of the District Curriculum Committee to bring forward updates and/or recommendations on items they are ready to present to the Committee.
Questions on the above agendas should be sent to the Director of the Center for Curriculum and Transfer Articulation .
