Creating the New Occupational Program Early Alert
Once the necessary research has been conducted and information has been gathered showing the viability of a new occupational program, the information and other program details are entered into a New Occupational Program Early Alert. This Alert is sent to other colleges and to appropriate curriculum personnel as notification of the intent to develop the program. NOP Early Alert Details

Development Date: Enter the date on which the Early Alert was created.

Initiating College: Enter the name of the College initiating the Early Alert.

Primary College: Enter the name of the College that will be responsible for processing and maintaining program curriculum.

Program Type: Type an X after the kind of program being proposed. If both a certificate and an AAS degree are planned, type an X after both awards.

Program Title: Enter the full title of the proposed program, which may not exceed 100 characters, including spaces.

Program Availability: Indicate the program availability by typing an X after the appropriate choice.
If the program will be shared, list all sharing colleges, including the initiating college.

CIPS Code: Enter the CIPS code as determined by the Occupational Administrator of the initiating college. 1

Need Statement: Briefly explain why the program is needed, in terms of workforce demands and benefit to students.2

Deadline for comments: In the box, enter the date of the tenth day of faculty accountability following the transmission of the Early Alert.
