Message from The Acting Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs

Third Annual Transfer Awareness Week
February 27th - March 3rd, 2006

I want to invite you to actively participate in the 3rd Annual Transfer Awareness Week. As a member of the Maricopa community, we value your involvement in the formal activities. We also appreciate the information you may share and the advising you can provide to our students. Now more than ever, students need accessible and affordable pathways to the baccalaureate degree. To support them, we have invested in partnerships that maximize community college credits. In some cases, up to 90 credits.

On behalf of the Division of Academic and Student Affairs and the Maricopa Community Colleges, I want to thank Maricopa's transfer partners for participating in the week's events. I also want to take this opportunity to commend our many Maricopa faculty for building relationships and designing curriculum to forge dynamic partnerships that serve our diverse Maricopa students.

The week's events are a reminder of the ongoing challenging commitment to support the Maricopa Transfer Mission. Building bridges for student success is a community wide effort, and we hope that you are able to join us in raising the importance and awareness of this mission.

-- Dr. Maria Harper-Marnick
Acting Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs

TRANSFER CAFE'

Maricopa faculty are invited to participate in a Transfer Cafe' that will take place on Monday, February 27, from 2:00 - 3:30 PM at the Rio Conference Center. The Transfer Cafe' will be a facilitated session in a world cafe' format that is intended to gather information on two essential questions - What are the ingredients of successful transfer partnerships? and What are the necessary ingredients for transfer student success? The information will be used to improve the transfer process for Maricopa students.

Your voice as a faculty member is critical in shaping the discussions and fostering improvement to the Maricopa Transfer Partnerships and ultimately student success. We hope that you able to join us on that day. RSVP for the event.
