Arizona General Education Curriculum (AGEC) Completion is on the Rise
The Center for Curriculum and Transfer Articulation (CCTA) is pleased to announce the number of students who are completing AGEC is on the rise. Since 2009, close to 1,500 more students completed AGEC. AGEC consists of 35-38 semester-credits that fulfill lower-division general education requirements for students planning to transfer to one of the three Arizona public universities and other university partners. Students must complete AGEC with a cumulative GPA of 2.5, or earn an associate’s degree with a cumulative GPA of 2.0, for assured admission at the three public universities.
It is important to explain to students that strong academic preparation at the community college is the key to transfer student success, and AGEC is critical as part of the transfer process.
We want to take this opportunity to thank the colleges for all their work in supporting AGEC completion.
AGEC Database
In October, Maricopa switched over to the statewide AGEC database, which now serves as the official repository of AGEC courses. Please update your resources and websites with the following link www.aztransfer.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/agecweb.woa .
