Transfer Partner Data Profiles Now Online
The Center for Curriculum and Transfer Articulation (CCTA) has added a web feature that displays a variety of transfer student data for each of Maricopa’s partnering four-year colleges and universities. This tool offers users a clear picture of the educational path students take when they transfer from Maricopa to a partnering institution.
Student demographic information displayed includes gender, ethnicity, number of credits transferred, primary MCCCD college(s) attended, and academic major. The profiles also display the number of total undergraduates and new transfers with 12-or-more Maricopa transfer credits, as well as bachelor’s degrees conferred to former MCCCD students. The data reflects the 2009-10 and 2010-11 academic years, and includes a trends page which will be extended in upcoming years.
Data from Arizona’s public universities are taken from the ASSIST (Arizona State System for Information on Student Transfer) Data Warehouse. Data from Maricopa’s private and out-of-state transfer partners is self-reported.

Online Degree completion options at Arizona State University (ASU)
One of the most convenient ways to finish your bachelor’s degree, while balancing family obligations and work, is to take courses online. At ASU, learning online is effective, flexible and smart. Every program delivered online is developed by the same excellent faculty who teach on our campuses, and is designed to engage students and professors in meaningful ways. ASU students who learn online connect with the full university experience including access to the latest learning technologies, 24/7 research assistance, tech help, and academic advising. For information about online undergraduate degree programs, visit: http://asuonline.asu.edu/degree-programs/undergraduate
One of ASU’s most flexible options for adult degree completion is the Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (BIS) in Organizational Studies. This degree program accepts up to 75 credits in transfer when a student has completed their Arizona General Education Curriculum (AGEC) with the Maricopa Colleges. The remaining 45 credits can be completed entirely online, making this an ideal option for busy adults whose class schedules might be difficult to accommodate. The emphasis in Organizational Studies prepares students for the dynamics of contemporary organizations. Students will gain valuable knowledge about management styles, communication strategies, technologies, diversity, ethics, and politics. The Arizona College Access Network (AzCAN), a program of the Arizona Commission for Postsecondary Education, presented a 2011 Pathways to Postsecondary Education Award to NAU during a Nov. 18 ceremony held in Tempe.
“Our 2NAU partnerships encourage community college students to complete both their associate’s and bachelor’s degrees,” said Brenda Sutton, associate dean, NAU-Extended Campuses. “The program emphasizes the importance of earning a bachelor’s degree in order to be competitive in the workforce.”
2NAU students are jointly admitted to a community college and NAU. Mesa Community College Mortuary Science and Ottawa University
Students who are currently working on the Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Mortuary Science at Mesa Community College can now complete their Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees with Ottawa University. By transferring 80 credit hours of coursework, including the AAS in Mortuary Science, these Maricopa students will only need to complete 48-49 credit hours of selected business classes in order to earn an Ottawa University Business Administration Degree.
