New High School Student Portal
Recently Aztransfer.com created a new High School Student portal page as part of the “Getting Ahead” initiative and the re-organization of the Academic Program Articulation Steering Committee (APASC) which now includes representatives from high school urban, rural, and JTED districts and the Arizona Department of Education.
Arizona’s “Getting Ahead” project is a collaboration among the public universities, community colleges, the K-12 sector, business community, and legislative and executive branches of government to help more Arizonans complete college degrees. The "Getting Ahead" project is funded with a $1.5 million grant from the Lumina Foundation for Education. “This portal is an important step under the "Getting Ahead" project to help more students understand what is needed to attend college, begin earning college credits, and choose the best career for them,” says Dr. Rufus Glasper, co-chairman of the “Getting Ahead” project and chancellor of the Maricopa Community Colleges.
Features of the new High School Portal at AZTransfer.com include:
- KnowHow2Go – link to the portal that helps students plan the steps needed to apply to and attend college
- Exam Equivalency Guide – shows students their college credit equivalency for AP, IB, CLEP, and DSST exam scores
- High School Dual Enrollment – lists courses (in the CEG) available for students wishing to begin community college courses while in high school

Introducing Grand Canyon University’s Transfer Center – Come to find your purpose, we’ll show you the path!
Grand Canyon University’s new transfer website offers several opportunities for transfer students – there’s even an option to upload transcripts for a free transfer evaluation. Within 24 hours, an Admissions Counselor will be able to tell you what you can transfer in, what classes you need to graduate, your estimated tuition costs and what scholarships are available to you. Visit the site at transfercenter.gcu.edu
The Center is designed to assist you in evaluating and anticipating your transfer opportunities and needs. There are several transfer options, including the Lifelong Learning Assessment (LLA). Students can submit a paper documenting life experience in the form of an essay. All students who wish to submit a lifelong learning paper must first take ENG-135 Lifelong Learning Assessment. Credit earned through the LLA process can be used to fulfill a general education or an elective requirement.
