Evaluating Maricopa's Transfer Partnerships: How Effective Are They?

The Maricopa Community Colleges have formal transfer articulation agreements with 46 universities nationwide; this is in addition to Arizona’s three public universities which are part of the statewide transfer system. An evaluation was conducted by the Center for Curriculum and Transfer Articulation to examine the efficacy of the transfer articulation agreements with Maricopa's transfer partners. It was the first attempt by the Maricopa Community Colleges to examine systematically the efficacy of the district’s many transfer partnership agreements. The findings from the evaluation provide evidence that can be used to strengthen Maricopa’s established transfer partnerships and provide direction for CCTA regarding the development of future transfer agreements. Access full report.

Chancellor, ASU President Sign Expanded Transfer Agreement

Maricopa Community Colleges’ Chancellor Rufus Glasper and Arizona State University President Michael Crow emphasized renewed educational access and seamless transfer for students at a signing ceremony January 20 at Rio Salado College that marks a new partnership era for the two institutions. The expanded partnership’s goal is to increase the number of students who complete a community college degree and go on to graduate from ASU by doubling the number of student transferring to ASU from Maricopa, and increasing their success at the university. Prescott College receives License to offer Early Childhood Education Teacher Certifications and Programs

The Arizona Department of Education has approved Prescott College’s application to offer degrees and teacher certification programs in Early Childhood Education (ECE). Few institutions in Arizona offer both ECE and Early Childhood Special Education programs. These programs are well suited for Maricopa College students seeking to transfer seamlessly into a competitively priced, low-residency distance learning program.
