Transfer Pathways to be Featured at Minority Male Conference

unlock your future Please join us

Transfer options and planning resources will be presented by CCTA and Arizona’s three public universities at a session entitled, “Journeying on College Pathways,” at the 3rd annual Minority Male Initiative Student Conference.  Phoenix College will host the conference on Friday, February 24, 2012, from 8am to 3pm in the Bulpitt Auditorium.

Since the goals of the event include providing resources that empower minority males to make academic choices that improve their quality of life, transfer pathways are a key topic for the Maricopa students and employees in attendance.  The session will promote awareness of online resources and transfer services throughout the district that support students as they make transfer-related decisions, including information about Maricopa’s private and out-of-state transfer partners.  Representatives from Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University and the University of Arizona will share opportunities and services for students who want to learn about these institutions.

Other agenda items for the conference include keynote speaker, Dr. Kwang-Wu Kim, Dean/Director of ASU’s Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts, a student panel discussion, and a speed mentoring session.

Maricopa employees are encouraged to promote this event to students.  For more information or to register for the conference (by February 21), go to:  http://mcli.maricopa.edu/minoritymale

Seven likes the location of ASU’s Tempe campus and loves the educational opportunity. “I decided to attend ASU because of its proximity to my home, but actually lucked out by being a part of an incredible psychology department. One that’s affording me the skill set to be successful in any grad school program in the country.” (Continued...)
