Penn State World Campus (cont'd) Recently, the Penn State School of Nursing signed an articulation agreement that outlines how 72 credits from Maricopa’s nursing program can be applied to the online RN to B.S. Additionally, through our Transfer Credit Policy, Maricopa Community College students have the opportunity to apply the credits they earned toward other Penn State’s online bachelor’s degree programs.
One of the great benefits of an online program is that students can begin their careers immediately while working toward earning their degree. Additionally, tuition for online courses is set at the same amount as in-state Pennsylvania rates, providing affordable access for working students. Penn State offers a wide variety of programs with majors such as nursing, business, psychology, criminal justice, information science and technology, law and society, organizational leadership and turfgrass science.
“The World Campus is all about giving access to a Penn State education to learners everywhere,” said Wayne Smutz, associate vice president for Academic Outreach and executive director of Continuing and Distance Education. “This kind of articulation agreement with Maricopa Community Colleges shows the type of educational reach the World Campus gives Penn State”.

World Campus offers two bachelor’s degrees in psychology that are designed
to refine and maximize critical-thinking skills and help students understand
why people learn, think and act the way that they do.
The Bachelor of Science in nursing (RN to B.S.) is offered in partnership with the Penn State School of Nursing and World Campus. Completing this degree can prepare a student for a supervisory or specialized position, an administrative career, or entry into graduate school. An articulation agreement was signed in August 2008 that outlines how 72 credits from Maricopa’s nursing program can be applied to this program. We encourage students to speak with a World Campus advisor to learn more.
The Bachelor of Science in business is designed for students who are seeking general preparation for professions in business. The degree combines core business disciplines—notably management, marketing, finance, and logistics—with applied study in a practical setting.
The Bachelor of Science in criminal justice will help prepare students to work in the fields of policing, courts, law, and corrections, as well as with a wide variety of crime-related populations—ranging from crime and abuse victims to substance-addicted offenders.
