Maricopa/ASU Alliance Update

Did you know that Maricopa and ASU have expanded the Alliance to include all Maricopa transfer students? The Alliance steering committee is working on creating a “culture of transfer” that will help all students who complete a community college degree, transfer to and persist at the university, and graduate with a bachelor’s degree. Learn about Maricopa/NAU Connection updates, programs, events, and more through the new Connection newsletter. The Connection is a collaborative partnership between the Maricopa Community Colleges and Northern Arizona University that is designed to help students finish their associate's degree, transfer to NAU, and complete a bachelor’s degree on a community college campus.

University of Arizona Scholarship Recipients

The University of Arizona is proud to recognize the scholarship recipients from the Maricopa Community College District.  All of these students have demonstrated exemplary merit in their studies and will be joining the UA community in 2009 to become University of Arizona Wildcats!  Congratulations to all of our scholarship recipients. Western International University

Western International University (WIU) is a private university that has been based in Phoenix, Arizona for over thirty years. WIU has bachelor and master degree programs taught by faculty who are leaders in their fields.  WIU offers flexibility to students in achieving their educational goals. Students have the opportunity to attend one of five campuses in Arizona and, for those who are not able to attend on-campus classes, there is WIU Interactive Online. Western New Mexico University Out of State Waivers

Every academic year, 200 Out-of-State waivers are available to Arizona residents who are enrolled as undergraduates at Western New Mexico University. With this waiver, Arizona residents may enroll as undergraduates at New Mexico resident rates.  Resident tuition and fees for the fall 2009 term is $1,794.25 per semester.  For details

University of Phoenix awards Three Scholarships to Maricopa Students

CCTA is pleased to announce the following Spring 2009 Maricopa Community College Scholarship recipients. Each student will receive a $1,500 scholarship award.

Minhanh Nguyen - Chandler/Gilbert Community College

David Connelly - Phoenix Community College

Thomas Hutchinson - Mesa Community College

If you know a Maricopa Community College student who is graduating soon and plans to go to University of Phoenix in the fall, they can apply for a $1,500 scholarship. University of Phoenix is awarding 15 scholarships that are specifically for Maricopa Community College graduates. Completed scholarship applications are due by August 28, 2009.
