Western International University (WIU)
WIU is a private university with over 30 years experience in educating adults, and offers flexible options to help your degree program fit your busy lifestyle:
- Receive personal attention from our professional Enrollment, Academic, and Finance Advisors, so that your degree program fits your goals.
- Courses are just nine weeks long, and new courses begin every month.
- Classes meet once a week, on weekdays, evenings, or Saturdays.
- Attend class at any of our five Arizona campuses, live online with WIU Interactive OnlineSM, or both.
- WIU Interactive OnlineSM allows you to connect live online with your classmates and instructors. If you can’t attend your live class, you can view your recorded class and submit an alternate participation assignment anytime during the week.
- Grades are based on individual merit, so you determine your own success.
- WIU values your knowledge and skills from prior academic and work experience. You can apply for assessment of prior learning and potentially earn credit to finish your degree faster.
WIU faculty members are experienced, working
professionals who hold advanced degrees in their teaching fields and are
highly successful practitioners in their areas of expertise. Because our
faculty are accomplished practitioners, they bring both theoretical and
practical knowledge and skill to their teaching. They are specialists in
facilitating student collaboration to maximize learning. What you learn
in class today, you can apply at work tomorrow. WIU has a long tradition
of providing transfer paths for community college students, and part of Mike’s
role will be to assist in identifying MCCCD students’ need for more
transfer options to allow maximum transfer of credits. WIU already has articulation
agreements in place to allow block transfers and pathways options for MCCCD
AA, AAS, ABUS, AGS, AS, and ATP graduates to receive between 51–72
credits and enter WIU as a junior. WIU is also developing specific transfer
