Healthcare Education : Credit by Evaluation
The credit by evaluation program offers students the opportunity to receive credit for courses completed at other regionally accredited universities, colleges, and schools, or within the Maricopa Community Colleges, that match with healthcare courses required in the Maricopa Community Colleges healthcare programs. A student may complete the appropriate application form and submit
it to the ICAN Director to: Equivalency review for HCC courses: We recognize that many students entering the Maricopa Community Colleges healthcare programs have had prior education in healthcare. If you wish to have your prior education reviewed for equivalency to the HCC courses, complete the following steps:
NOTE: If you have taken your coursework at a regionally accredited institution, you will not need to pay Maricopa Community Colleges tuition to receive transfer credit. If you have taken your coursework at a proprietary school without regional accreditation, you will need to pay tuition to receive credit. Equivalency review for Nursing Program courses: We recognize that many students entering the Maricopa Community Colleges’ healthcare programs have had prior education in nursing. An applicant who has successfully completed nursing courses within the past 12 months at a nursing program other than the Maricopa Community College District Nursing Program, is eligible to apply for evaluation of courses for advanced placement. If you meet this qualification and wish to have your prior education reviewed for equivalency to the Maricopa Community College District Nursing Program, please contact your Academic Advisor. |
