#1 – Future Educators Conference 2006 is a Hit!
All Aboard! Take the Right Track and Make a Difference! was the theme for the 4th Annual Future Educators Conference hosted by the MCC School of Education on November 3rd 2006. Over 250 students from Maricopa Community Colleges participated. MCC students were instrumental in planning and working the event.
Keynote speakers Allan Cameron and Fredi Lajvardi from Carl Hayden High School energized the audience by describing how their robotics club out-performed engineering students from prestigious universities such as MIT and UC Davis. Candidates for Superintendent of Public Instruction, Tom Horne (R) and Jason Williams (D), shared words of inspiration during lunch. Experienced educators from twelve school districts presented several breakout sessions.
Phoenix College student, Nicole Rhodes, wrote, “Just a quick note to thank MCC for getting this conference together. I tucked away some good tidbits from each session and really enjoyed both the AM and PM speakers. Kudos to all involved.”
