College and Career Transitions Toolkit Now On-Line

The College and Career Transitions Initiative (CCTI) is a U.S. Department of Education funded project administered by the League for Innovation in the Community College in cooperation with several nationally recognized partner organizations. Maricopa Community Colleges is one of fifteen CCTI project sites selected through a national RFP process in the spring of 2002. The purpose of the CCTI project, now in its third year, is to strengthen the role of community colleges in easing student transitions between secondary and postsecondary education and into employment and to improve academic performance at both secondary and postsecondary levels. Project awards were made in five occupational cluster categories including: (1) Education and Training, (2) Health Science, (3) Information Technology, (4) Law, Public Safety and Security and (5) Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). The Maricopa project is in the Education and Training area.

The CCTI Toolkit is a major deliverable of the College and Career Transitions Initiative.

The toolkit was created by the fifteen project exemplars to share information and practices that have been developed at each site within its respective occupational category. Each submission includes a brief summary of the project underway at the site, a detailed pathway template, implementation strategies, lessons learned, a site improvement plan and a detailed case study. Submissions also include contact information of secondary, postsecondary and corporate partners.
