ABOUT BIS

Description of the program: The Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies program (BIS) in Organizational Studies is a university-wide degree program that enables students to prepare for careers in a world that increasingly bridges academic disciplines. Students choosing Organizational Studies double concentration are required to complete the BIS five course core and ten courses dealing with various elements that compromise organizational studies.

The BIS degree in Organizational Studies provides students with a unique opportunity to learn about the dynamics of today's organizations by combining courses from a number of academic disciplines. This concentration allows students to study contemporary issues like:

  1. Social processes and human interaction
  2. Information management and organizational theory
  3. Organizational contexts
  4. Diversity
  5. Ethics

Exploration of theses issues will prepare students to become contributing members in for-profit, non-profit, health care, educational, and other types of organizations.
