Dean Marian Tadano - Dean of Instruction at Phoenix College (PC) and APIA's advisor, in collaboration with Ms. Madalene Ong Sakata, AsianSun News, and the Asian communities, co-sponsored a reception to honor Dr. Corena Gardena, PC's president Wednesday evening, January 15th, at Phoenix College. APIA members and officers were well represented at the reception. Here is a list of some of our members and officers: Mr. Buddy Hing, Dr. Arunee Grow, Ms. Dzung Tran, Mr. Gordon Fong, Mr. Bill Tse, and Lo-An Tabar-Gaul. More info.
Ms. Dzung Tran - Manager of Business Services at South Mountain College and APIA's Co-Treasurer, emceed and organized another successful Vietnamese's New Year celebration last Saturday, January 25 at Phoenix College's auditorium (PC). Over 400 community members and guests attended the event. Dr. Gardena, PC's president, was there to show her support for our Vietnamese community. More info: Vietnamese version; English version.
Ms. Ruth Yandell - MCC Music faculty and Immediate Past President of APIA, was featured in three concerts this winter. On Saturday, January 25th, she performed with MCC's piano faculty at MCC's Theatre Outback at 7:00 p.m.
