Guidelines for Using Capital Funds

Equipment Donation Procedures:
Acceptance of Donations

  1. For MCCCD Policy - please see Acceptance of Public Gifts
  2. The Donor must complete and sign the top portion of the MCCCD Acceptance of Donated Property Form. (please note: This form can be downloaded from the "Forms" page).
  3. Documentation to support the value given must be attached when submitting donation form for processing (this will help expedite the process, and eliminate processing delays). In addition, if the donated equipment is artwork, an independent appraisal is required. (Please note: An MCCCD Property Tag may need to be placed on the donated item(s). Please contact your college Receiving Department for tagging procedures).
  4. The Donation Form requires two college signatures:
    • President, Vice Chancellor or Designee
    • Dean, Department Chair or Designee
  5. Upon obtaining the proper college signatures, forward the Donation form, along with supporting documentation, to the Capital Asset Accounting Department at the District Office.
  6. The college should then forward a copy of the completed Donation Form to the Donor along with a Thank You letter.
