Stale-dated Checks
In order to monitor cash flow and maintain adequate levels of operating cash, the Treasury department tracks the number and volume of checks over 180 days old. Working closely with the MCCCD departments of Accounts Payable, Student Financial Services, and Payroll, as well as the bank, checks over 180 days old are voided. Under Arizona's Uniform Commercial Code, a bank does not have to honor a check over 180 days old.
