New Career Guides Available Information for Students about Maricopa Programs
Workforce Development, in partnership with District Marketing, had updated the Maricopa Career Guide for 2014. This guide is designed to help students explore the wide range of degree and certificate career options available throught the Maricopa Community Colleges. MCPS Users Now Number Over 14,000 Maricopa Career Planning System Provides Career Guidance
Since becoming operational in the fall of 2012, registered users of the Maricopa Career Planning System (MCPS) now number over 14,000 in August of 2013. The MCPS provides software designed to deliver customized career planning guidance so users can make decisions about their careers and further their education. The system includes interest inventories, skills and work values assessments. It allows users to explore career pathways, scholarship opportunities, and colleges, as well as prepare resumes, cover letters, and search for jobs.
MCPS users have completed more than 34,000 career assessments. The system is available to students at all ten Maricopa community colleges, and is being incorporated into many college skills-for-success classes. These classes, along with advisement, are mandatory for first-time students beginning at MCCCD. For information about accessing MCPS, contact a college career service department.
