Education Advocacy - Access is Key

Chancellor Glasper is committed to improving educational access, quality, and affordability in Arizona. His work on several boards and committees, at the local, state and national level, is focused on supporting student success and preparing students to meet the demands of the 21st century.

Governor's P-20 Council

Dr. Glasper served as Co-Chair of the Governor’s P-20 Council, a group of education, business, and community leaders convened by the Governor to shape a common vision for education reform efforts in Arizona. Appointed by Governor Janet Napolitano, the Chancellor provides leadership in helping Arizonans understand that a strong education system, from the preschool to postsecondary level, leads to the development of a more talented workforce and vibrant economy.

The work of the P-20 Council evaluates educational policies and programs and then develop recommendations to provide systemic improvements at all points in the educational spectrum.

RC 2020

Renewal and change in preparation for the future of the urban community college is the focus of RC 2020.  Dr. Glasper’s work on behalf of the Maricopa Community Colleges addresses the specific needs and challenges of the urban community college and aligns with the group’s goal to find ways in which community colleges can better serve their students, faculty and communities. Membership in RC 2020 is by invitation and includes institutions in large urban areas throughout the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia.

Division of Public Affairs

The Division of Public Affairs provides a common point of access for the many publics served by the Maricopa Community Colleges. Departments within this division work to build relationships with scores of constituencies such as employees, students, voters, all levels of government, educational institutions, associations, and the media. By fostering two-way communication, sharing important information about the District and helping the institution meaningfully interpret feedback the Division helps the District earn public understanding and acceptance.
