Curriculum Committee

 

Statement of Purpose

    • To serve as an advisory group to the Counseling Instructional Council.
    • To provide a systematic review of CPD, CWE, BHS, and PGR courses.
    • To provide leadership in the development of new counseling courses.
    • To assist counselors with the development of new counseling courses as part of the curriculum approval process.
    • To act as a liaison between CIC and other curriculum groups.
    • To sponsor workshops on teaching and learning processes.

Goals for 2001-2002

      To develop and maintain a website for curriculum matters that is part of the
      Counseling Instructional Council home page.
       
      To initiate dialogue with NAU representatives regarding CPD160 as Liberal Studies
      elective credit.
       
      To identify existing counseling courses that have not been examined
      since 1995 and initiate a review process for selected courses.
       
      To research Internet based counseling courses taught in post-secondary
      educational institutions and develop summary materials for CIC.
       
      Review and assist new course development and modifications of existing courses.
       
      Review CPD101 - Personal Development and CPD103BF - Personal Development for
      Senior Americans for possible adaptation for internet delivery.

    Counseling Instructional Council home page.
     
    To initiate dialogue with representatives from University of Arizona
    regarding CPD courses meeting their criteria for elective credit.
     
    To identify existing counseling courses that have not been examined
    since 1995 and initiate a review process for selected courses.
     
    To research Internet based counseling courses taught in post-secondary
    educational institutions and develop summary materials for CIC.
