    Members present:
      Barbara Gordon, MCC
      Stephanie Fujii, EMCC
      Cori Wright, SMCC
      Jeannie Wyatt, SCC

I. October Minutes

A draft of the October minutes was approved with one minor correction. The next meeting date is November 8 rather than November 18.

II. Proposed Course Modifications

BHS 268 - move to December agenda.
BHS 269 - resubmitted. Changes to course competencies and outline were recommended. Proposed course modifications were reviewed. Committee members agree BHS 269 course proposal is ready for CIC to review and they recommend approval. Cori will take copies to next CIC meeting.

III. CPD Course Evaluations by UA

Jeannie and Cori met with Don Richardson and Molly Baird to discuss steps for requesting a second evaluation of CPD courses for elective credit by the representative from University of Arizona. While UA course transfer policy doesn't include courses that are developmental, occupational or personal in nature, they agreed to review a select few on a case by case basis. Dr. Mary Briden requested a second review of the four CPD courses submitted last summer (CPD 102AB, 103BL, 104, and 150). Don Richardson recommended attaching examples of content oriented materials such as course syllabi, textbook table of contents, grade criteria, assignments, and instructor resource lists. Committee members agreed to only resubmit CPD 150 at this time and will work on resubmitting others in the spring.

Stephanie agreed to gather CPD 150 materials at EMCC. Other committee members will do the same at their respective colleges. The goal is to compile materials before the CCC meeting in December.

IV. CPD 160 Course Evaluation by NAU.

Don Richardson suggested counselors submit CPD 160 to NAU for liberal studies evaluation. Cori & Stephanie agreed to compile curriculum materials to submit. They will research NAU criteria for assigning liberal studies status to a transfer course.

V. Counseling Curriculum Committee Web Site.

Process for New Courses/Process for Course Modification. - Jeannie encouraged committee members to remind their colleagues of resources on the CCC web site. This site serves as a central depository for minutes, curriculum related procedures and forms. One document, Process for Course Modification, contains unclear language. Parts of the document were rewritten for clarity. Cori will take these changes to CIC.
