Youth Leadership Development
Characteristics of effective Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) officers, leadership styles and strategies for the management and organization of youth groups in agriculture. Includes instruction and hands-on training in speech/workshop development, budget and activity planning and the use of parliamentary procedure.

1. Describe the role of youth organizations in motivating students and vitalizing instruction in agricultural education. (I)
2. Describe the characteristics of basic leadership behavior patterns. (II)
3. Identify the role and duties of officers as they relate to the management, organization and development of effective youth organization. (III)
4. Identify the characteristics of a successful youth organization (IV)
5. Design and develop a plan for carrying out a meaningful youth organization program of activities. (V, VI)

7. Develop an awareness of current events and their affect on agricultural education, the industry of agriculture and the Future Farmers of America (FFA). (VIII)
