The fundamentals and principles of automatic transmissions presently in use by General Motors Corporation automobiles. Diagnosis, service, and reconditioning procedures necessary to maintain these units. Prerequisites: None.

APT121AA   19966-99999 Auto Transmission (General Motors)
1. Describe the operation of the torque converter, pressure regulator, manual valve, throttle valve, governor, shift valves, and the bands and clutches. (I)
2. Remove and replace an automatic transmission and perform proper external adjustments. (II-VI)
3. Disassemble and reassemble a T-125, T-200, T-350, T-440, or T- 700 transmission, maintaining specified end play where called for. (II-VI)
4. Perform routine in-car service on a transmission. (II-VI)
5. Check a torque converter for proper end play. (II-VI)
6. Make appropriate pressure checks on a transmission. (II-VI)
7. Test torque converter clutch control circuit for electrical faults. (II-VI)
