English as a Second Language I: Grammar

First level of English as a Second Language (ESL). Emphasis on basic conversational skills, pronunciation, vocabulary building and grammar. Some reading and sentence level writing.

Prerequisites: Appropriate ESL placement test score.

 

Course Notes: ESL010 may be repeated for a maximum of six (6) credits. Credit (P) or no credit (Z). Standard grading available according to procedures outlined in catalog.

3.

Use subject and object pronouns in both conversation and simple written sentences. (III)

4.

Use common adjectives and adverbs, as well as possessive adjectives and adverbs of frequency, in both conversation and simple written sentences. (IV)

5.

Use common prepositions in both conversation and simple written sentences. (V)

6.

Use the following types of nouns in both conversation and simple written sentences: count (singular and plural) and non-count. (VI)
