Geospatial Technology for Environmental Sciences Projects
Completion of a self-paced geospatial technology project.
Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in ENV273 or permission of Instructor.
Course Note: ENV295 must be completed before a student takes the Spatial Technology And Remote Sensing (STARS) exam for certification in geospatial technology.

1. Follow detailed project implementation steps to plan and create a Geographic Information System (GIS) for the campus- based project. (I-II)
2. Interview the stakeholders and identify and/or collect necessary data to complete the project. (II-III)
3. Use GIS software and any necessary tools to gather and manipulate the project data. (II-III)
4. Organize the findings into map layouts and report documents. (III)
5. Communicate project finding(s) through an oral presentation to stakeholders, a school administrator, and other relevant parties. (IV)
6. Prepare for certification exam. (V)
