1. Identify and develop an officiating philosophy and describe the physiological aspects of officiating basketball. (I)
2. Identify and explain the legal rights, legal responsibilities, and business responsibilities of an official. (II)
3. Cite and identify rules and mechanics of basketball officiating. (III)
4. Identify and apply leadership, communication, and conflict management skills of an official in simulated cases. (IV, V)
5. Identify officiating criteria for a good game and time management techniques. (VI)
6. Develop one’s own fitness and nutrition plan that meets professional standards. (VII)
7. Identify local and regional associations that will be necessary and useful to someone planning on officiating as a lifetime career. (VIII)
8. Experience officiating local basketball games with instructor and peer related review. (IX)
