1. With increasing speed and accuracy, transcribe increasingly complex diagnostic procedures from various originators who may exhibit accents and dialects. (I, III)
2. With increasing speed and accuracy, transcribe reports containing therapeutic procedures and prognoses from various originators who may exhibit accents and dialects. (II, III)
3. Demonstrate increasing skill and accuracy in transcriptionist proofreading. (IV)
4. Utilize medical terminology and Business English skills to proofread, edit, revise and clarify medical dictation without altering the meaning of the document or changing the originator's style. (V)
5. Research unfamiliar procedures, language or terminology using appropriate references or resources. (VI)
6. Apply medico-legal principles when transcribing medical documents. (VII)
7. Recognize discrepancies in dictation and clarify/edit according to standard transcription procedures. (VIII)
