Symbol shorthand theory combined with dictation and transcription. Prerequisites: Ability to type or concurrent registration in OAS100 and OAS101.

Shorthand I

 

1.

Explain symbol shorthanded theory and its application in the office. (I)

2.

Apply correct and proper stenographic practices. (II)

3.

Write speed forms, speed form derivatives, and phrases. (III, IV)

4.

Take "live" dictation for three minutes at a minimum of 50 wpm and transcribe with 95% accuracy. (VI)

5.

Transcribe unfamiliar business letters and memoranda for three minutes at a minimum rate of 50 WAM in mailable form. (V, VI)
