William H. Crawford III Receives NAACP Award
William & Dianna CrawfordChandler-Gilbert's Dean of Career and Technical Education, William H. Crawford, III, was recently the recipient of the East Valley NAACP's highest honor, the NAACP Roy Wilkins Community Service Award. Crawford is a long-time Maricopa employee who has not only served as Dean at both Chandler-Gilbert and Mesa Community but as residential and adjunct faculty as well. Crawford serves as advisor and mentor to CGCC's Black Student Union. He is currently Vice President, Western Region Council of Black American Affairs (WRCBAA). The WRCBAA represents over 400 community and technical colleges in 11 states in the western region of the U.S. He is president of the Board of Directors for Community Bridges of Arizona, which offers substance abuse treatment and recovery to homeless, indigent and working poor adults. The Community Bridges' family of community service agencies provides prevention, education and training services. In addition, Crawford serves as a member to the Salvation Army Advisory Board.
