Chandler-Gilbert Community College QSpeak
Chandler-Gilbert Community College will be the host of a unique theater production by QSpeak, a program of 1in10, Inc. in Phoenix. QSpeak Theatre is the valley’s only youth theater program exploring the issues and needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning (LBGTQ) youth. The performance on October 24, 2007 from 4:00-6:30pm in SC 140 will present “Steppin’ Out, a fresh look at current issues from the personal experiences of LGBTQ youth. Dr. Lori Girshick, CGCC sociology faculty, invited QSpeak to Chandler-Gilbert to raise awareness of these issues. “Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer youth attend our classes and all campus community members should be sensitive to their needs and the issues they face,” she shared.
