Dr. Bel Quiros Winemiller, Spanish Faculty

Dr. Winemiller has given GCC students, faculty and staff a chance to experience the traditions, languages and customs from different parts of the world. She has created many wonderful events where diversity and students' efforts have been rewarded.  She was the founder and organizer of the International Festival for seven years, created the Juegos Florares literary event where students were awarded prizes for poems, essays and short stories in all the foreign languages taught at GCC. She created GCC's Lunar New Year Celebration and a series where students experience Spanish from the different perspectives of experts from Latin America. She is also part of the diversity committee at GCC and is an example of how to engage in diversity and inclusiveness.  Dr. Winemiller has been a pioneer of student success.  She was granted the most popular professor at GCC twice, making it very obvious that her students appreciate her efforts and teaching excellence.
