In Memoriam -- Dee Duggan

Mary "Dee" Dolores Duggan, 71, of Scottsdale, AZ passed away on [Holy Thursday] April 9, 2009 at The University of Miami Hospital in Miami, FL. Dee retired from SCC in November of 2008 and we all anticipated her retirement to be as dynamic as her career.

For almost 24 years Dee was the Coordinator of the Disabilities Resources Office at SCC and for many years served as the Diversity Coordinator at the College.  She was also a 2008 DAC Award of Excellence recipient.

Dee was a champion for others; she spent her life giving of herself and fighting for those around her who needed help.  Her impact on students, employees, and those in the community is legendary and extends well beyond her length of service.  It is important that we take time to recognize and acknowledge a life that was well-lived but cut too short.

A student scholarship has been established in her memory.
