On November 3, 2005 The Rio Institute for Senior Education (RISE) and Rio Salado College presented a diversity forum, The Faces of Diversity. This presentation was open to RISE members and the community in the Northwest valley. The diversity forum discussed The Faces of Diversity as it relates to the communities of the Northwest valley. Aspects of demographics and community education were addressed to provide a perspective that supports diversity in community learning. Learning about community diversity and multi-generational communities will improve the understanding of how we can contribute as good citizens. Forum presenters included:

Todd Aakhus, RSC Director of Continuing Education, gets a new perspective on age-related diversity issues at Rio's Institute of Senior Education.
Rio Salado College's Lifelong Learning Center is a multigenerational education center that supports diversity through community educational offerings. The center serves multicultural community members/customers throughout the Northwest valley. Lifelong learning opportunities experienced at the center include everything from RISE lifelong learning education sessions to Adult Basic Education (ABE). The center offers full student services and supports community education. Visitors at the center represent great diversity of age from infants to mature individuals. Moreover, Rio Salado College's Sun Cities Lifelong Learning Center celebrates great diversity in thinking and learning styles.
