There are a wide variety of choices and formats to enhance skills in teaching, learning and diversity and inclusion available this spring.

Spring Leadership Breakfast: Dr. Steve Robbins, educator and nationally acclaimed speaker, blends insightful humor, creative story-telling, and the ability to make “high-brow” concepts practical in a powerful and dynamic presentation that leaves people with new understandings and a desire to rethink everyday thoughts and actions.

Dr. Robbins will be speaking at the Spring Leadership Breakfast on Thursday, March 20, 2008. Breakfast will be at 7:30 AM, program will begin at 8:15 at Glendale Community College. No registration is necessary.

Dr. Robbins will also be presenting to faculty from 1:30 – 3:30 PM at Gateway Community College.  Register through MCLI.

A late afternoon reception with an opportunity for questions and conversation is also planned. More information to follow.

MCCCD Employee Professional Development Days is a new collaboarative event this year sponsored by PSA, AACHE, APIA, Equality Maricopa, MACHE, MCBAA, UTEC, WLG with support from MAT, Crafts and the Diversity Advisory Council. The event will provide information on Movin'On UP at Maricopa as well as finding out more about Career Connections and Professional Growth Opportunities. Events will be held on April 2nd at GCC and April 4th at Rio. Watch for more information.

The MCLI spring calendar is out.  Diversity and Inclusion related activities abound including Honors Forum Lectures by Bobby Seale, Ira Rifkin and Wilma Mankiller, Dialogue Days addressing Native Americans in Health Sciences and Facilitating Challenging Conversations in the Classroom, as well as the third level of Engaging Students in Active Learning.
