  • GCC & SMCC Partner and Receive
    $216,224 for Scholarships!

Sixty students will have a financial boost as they prepare to become tomorrow's engineers, computer experts, scientists and mathematicians - thanks to a generous grant from the National Science Foundation. This grant will fund 35 Glendale Community College (GCC) and 25 South Mountain Community College (SMCC) scholarships. GCC and SMCC wrote the grant to assist economically disadvantaged students who show promise in math, engineering, science or technology

For two years, beginning in July, the National Science Foundation will fund scholarships of $1,790 per year ($895.00 per semester) for each of the full-time scholarship recipients. The scholarships are worth a total of $196,900 over the two years and are earmarked for economically disadvantaged students. The grant also includes oversight fees to assist each college with administrative costs incurred making a grant total of $216,224.
