A Double Mission - A Double Vision
Twin Sisters Earn Degrees and Set Sights on New Goals
Scottsdale Community College

SCC studentsPaige Salstrom Reyes and Haley Salstrom are on a double mission: to transfer to Arizona State University this fall to complete their bachelor degrees. This dynamic duo are just two from the SCC graduating class this year. There were 808 graduates, a record number for 2001-02!

These 21-year-old identical twins came to SCC in 1999 from Mountain View High School, in Mesa. Both earned Associate of General Studies degrees, yet each has a vision for the future of her own.

Paige, just recently married, plans to enroll in the College of Education with an emphasis in math. "SCC has the best math department in all of the Maricopa Community Colleges," says Paige. "I want to teach math and coach track and badminton at the high school level."

Haley will matriculate at ASU in business and has plans to get her CPA and start her own business. "The sense of community is awesome here at SCC. It has prepared me for ASU. I love SCC…I don't want to leave," expressed Haley.

Paige and Haley are best friends and shared a car coming to SCC until Haley bought a car a month ago. These sisters have future plans to open a nite club and already have a site picked out in the Tempe area. "We think this will be fun!"
