Works with state, national and international level affiliates. Responsible for the general day-to-day operations of the organization, particularly those related to curriculum and faculty.

  • Provides leadership for the development and implementation of new programs
  • May identify potential instructors for courses; acts as a liaison between faculty and students
  • Plans and implements programs and systems; monitors and evaluates programs/services to meet learning outcomes; provides leadership in strategic planning and budget development

Dean Academic Affairs

Plans, directs and evaluates programs/services for the Academic Services area. The Dean has operational responsibility and authority to oversee all aspects of the program/service. Work contacts include administrators, faculty, staff, the public, local and national organizations, other educational institutions and vendors.

Common Work Activities:

  • Directs the operational services which include preparation, recommendation and administration of an assigned area's operating budget
  • Develops, supports and maintains liaison relationships with business, industry, health and community partners
  • Reviews materials to publicize programs and services through different medias; recommends
  • Coordinates tracking systems, data collection, analysis and follow-up; develops and administers policies pertaining to the overall college records function for student, college and statistical purposes
  • Provides policy development, long-range strategic planning, program design and program management; oversees and participates in proposal writing and contact with national organizations in order to seek additional funding
  • Maintains liaison with related national organizations and collaborates with them to devise innovative program concepts

Director Center for Teaching & Learning

Works with faculty and school administrators to plan, organize and administer instructional support programs and related activities. Positions supervised may include: Coordinator Learning Center, Learning Associate, Learning Center Technician, Student Services Specialist, Student Services Technician, Computer Lab Technician, Office Coordinator, Administrative Secretary and/or other assigned staff.

Common Work Activities:

  • Supervises other faculty as well as staff
  • Key contact for national organizations and Blackboard
  • Directs center planning, development and implementation of programs
  • Updates computer lab and resources
  • Maintains liaison with various departments regarding program
  • Provides training and workshops for faculty, staff and students
  • Negotiates with vendors on various issues

Faculty

Develops curriculum and conducts classes for students from diverse backgrounds and/or cultures using multiple methods of instruction and incorporating appropriate technologies.

Common Work Activities:

  • Supervises and instructs a diverse population of students in a classroom and/or lab setting.
  • Develops written syllabi/course outlines and course materials; assesses and evaluates knowledge of subject matter taught and monitors students' scholastic records.
  • Develops instructional materials, prepares and grades examinations.
  • Remains current with new trends and developments in the field through attendance at conferences, courses, seminars, and workshops while participating in college and district activities such as department/division meetings, committees, workshops and projects.

Director International Education Program

Plans, directs, coordinates and implements the international education program at a college; oversees international student services; develops a marketing and recruitment plan for international students; develops study abroad and exchange programs; c oordinates international/intercultural awareness activities on campus.

  • Plans and administers the development and coordination of an international education program
  • Develops and implements a marketing and recruitment plan for international students including development of promotional materials, web sites, advertising, and outreach; establishes linkages with foreign educational institutions and State and federal agencies that provide services for international students
  • Plans, develops and monitors participation in study abroad and faculty, staff and student exchange programs including promotion, advising, and orientation
  • Develops educational outreach activities in schools, community agencies, community organizations, and related organizations to encourage international students to attend higher education/post secondary programs
  • Advises students in matters of visa and immigration issues; assures college compliance with federal immigration regulations pertaining to international students;
  • Coordinates and implements international/intercultural events, training and projects; develops programs for hosting international visitors

Director Maricopa ACE (Achieving College Education) Program

Directs ACE program activities which includes: planning, development and communication. Works with and communicates with other educational institutions at all levels and other partners including corporations, foundations, government, and community agencies. Facilitates and implements special project campaigns with district and college administrators and personnel.

Common Work Activities:

  • Directs the overall activity of the Maricopa ACE initiative; assists the ACE Steering Committee and college ACE Program Directors to plan policy, procedures and programs
  • Plans meetings, speakers, conferences, and retreats; directs the content, production, and delivery of websites, newsletters, brochures, manuals and other information about the Maricopa ACE programs and project activities
  • Seeks and manages program operations and funding at the district level. Maintains liaison with program officers of government and national foundations and corporations with an emphasis on maintaining complex partnerships
  • Assists colleges in the district and nationally who are in the process of establishing similar at risk student and drop-out prevention programs; maintains currency on local and national at risk student programs
