Job Summary

Coordinates educational offerings, special projects, data collection for pre-service and early childhood education programs. Provides recruitment and advisement for early childhood education and education students.

Scope

This position works for the early childhood education programs of the community college. Work contacts include faculty, staff, community college students, high school staff, high school students, business/industry and community organizations. Equipment used includes standard office equipment.

Supervision Received

This position reports to an assigned faculty supervisor; receives general direction regarding routine matters and specific instructions regarding non-routine matters.

Representative Duties

Coordinates and manages special projects for early childhood education programs; collects and monitors early childhood education data; plans and conducts recruitment activities and visits; develops and implements marketing strategies for early childhood education programs; establishes new partnerships with school districts and expand current partnerships with school districts and the external educational community to promote enrollment in early childhood education programs; provides advisement to students and potential early childhood education students; performs related duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Abilities

Knowledge of: computer software including: word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation; graphics and database programs; needs of high school, college and community served; marketing and recruitment strategies. Ability to: make presentations to large and small groups; prepare, maintain and interpret statistical data; coordinate various projects and duties simultaneously; work independently; work with diverse audiences; advise high school and community college students; communicate effective orally and in writing; establish cooperative working relationships with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties.

Training & Experience

Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the requiredKnowledge and Abilities. An example of this would be a college degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Counseling or related field and/or experience working in a P-12 system and/or a community college.
