Completion of Probation
Employee Relations provides e-mail notices to employees and supervisors related to employee probationary periods..
When an employee is hired and has been approved by the Governing Board or transfers to another position, Employee Relations sends an e-mail notice to the employee (cc: employee's supervisor and college Human Resources liaison if employee is at one of the colleges) advising of their probationary period time frame.
The supervisor contacts Employee Relations to discuss an employee issue. The supervisor will be asked to provide information and/or documentation regarding the issue and will be provided with feedback from Employee Relations based on the situation.
Once the employee is nearing the end date of their probationary period, Employee Relations sends an e-mail to the supervisor (cc: college Human Resources liaison if employee is at one of the colleges) advising of the end date and requesting the supervisor conduct a probationary evaluation.
*Note: If an evaluation is required during a specified time frame during the employee's probationary period based on the employee's policy group, Employee Relations sends an e-mail to the supervisor when the specified date is nearing.
If an employee is to receive a step increase for successfully completing their probationary period based on the employee's policy group, Employee Relations processes the step increase at the appropriate time.
